| SHIPPING INFORMATION | |
Atkinson Maple Syrup Supplies does not charge a flat rate for shipping. We charge only the actual cost of shipping. The shipping amount is not included in your total price, as it cannot be properly determined until the order ships. Due to the high volume of orders we receive, we do not provide shipping quotes. For basic shipping information, please click here. Our preferred courier is Canada Post, as it is the most economical service available. Delivery in Ontario ranges from next day to three business days normally, while typically 3-5 business days to other provinces and approximately 10 business days to most US states. However, we also have courier service available with Dicom (Ontario/Quebec only) and UPS for deliveries to USA. Parcels sent by bus incur an additional $15.00 service charge as we use a delivery service to take the parcel to the bus depot. Shipments can also be arranged by the truck line of your choice. With our careful and extra packaging, we usually achieve damage free shipping by courier. Any breakage in transit, although rare, is the responsibility of the consignee. Couriers and Atkinson's will not be responsible for any breakage in transit. We strongly recommend that glass and fragile items be picked up at our store. |

| PRICING POLICY & TAXES | |
Every effort will be made to hold prices, but due to inflation and the fluctuating dollar, we reserve the right to revise prices on certain items when necessary. We reserve the right to occasionally substitute out of stock or discontinued items with ones of comparable quality. H.S.T. is extra on all items on the website, with some food items being zero rated. When goods are shipped, clients from all other provinces pay G.S.T. only, except for clients from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and British Columbia who must pay H.S.T. at the applicable rate of their province. Clients from outside Canada are exempt of all tax when goods are shipped directly by us. Clients from outside Ontario that pick up goods must pay H.S.T. Transitioning to Harmonized Sales Tax Effective July 1, 2010, Ontario residents including farmers, will be subject to Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), a combination of the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) and the Federal Goods & Service Tax (GST). For farmers, the HST will be treated like the GST but with additional exemptions thanks to lengthy and consistent OFA lobbying. Details of the HST and how it applies to farmers and their businesses can be found on the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website. www.cra.arc.gc.ca Transitional rules came into effect on May 1, 2010. Farmers who currently have a GST number are already registered...it will automatically become the HST/business number. Those farmers who make less than $30,000 annually are not required to, but should consider registering in order to recover the HST on numerous smaller inputs. An HST/business number from CRA will allow farmers to apply for input tax credits and will be used for payroll, income tax, import/export purposes and more.
